Sam Lomprez (b.1997, Sèvres in France) is a Brussels-based visual artist with a master’s degree in Photography, politics and graphic experimentations from the École de Recherche Graphique (ERG) - ESA St-Luc Brussels, Belgique. Her practice combines photography, video, graphic design, narrative experimentation and explores the relationships between bodies, territory, and domesticated spaces.

Sam’s artistic practice evolves around the themes of temporality, fragility, and the interplay between natural and artificial. Through multidisciplinary exploration, she investigates spaces caught in suspension — territories where time seems to have stopped, and where landscapes appear vulnerable and deformed. Her work reflects a deep fascination with traces and imprints, ephemeral moments that evoke the tension between presence and disappearance.

Her main project The Hens No longer Lay has been published in various print and digital media, threw Italy, France or in Belgium, and exhibited in collective exhibitions in New Jersey in 2021, and recently in Bruxelles, last December 2024.

Alongside her personal creation, she has worked as a studio assistant with artists such as Stéphanie Roland and at the Studio Lemercier, and participated in co- curation, most recently for the PERSEVERANCE IV exhibition at the Montoro12 gallery. With experience in venues such as the Art et Marges museum, Reset Atelier and Montoro12, she has developed a sensitive approach to images and their contexts, with a keen interest in contemporary issues and hybrid forms of storytelling. Versatile, rigorous, and endowed with strong technical and logistic skills, she seeks to establish herself in a stimulating artistic environment, where she can contribute to creation while enriching her know-how.
