Extracts from forgotten memories

This project is a series of photographs and archives, captured and collec- ted during a week of research, within the territory, post industrial and rural of Modave (BE) and its surroundings, during a residency organized by the photographer Maxime Brygo, as part of the 10th Biennale de Photographie du Condroz, in July 2021.

This series, both fictional and narrative, combines photographic shots of landscapes marked by timelessness as well as black and white archival documents that seem to fade over the years.

It is a non-linear narrative that leaves everyone free to interpret, their own narration. The archive images are present to mark places and characters, there is the presence of a text (also from the archives found) which can in itself translate the series, evoking the disappearance of houses, faces of the villages ... leaving only the forest, the streams and the birds that enliven and enchant the Hoyoux valley to appear.
