These photography where taken on the edges of the Taj as well as beneath the heights of the ruins of the surrounding villages, between 2023 and 2024, in the district of Portalegre, in Portugal. Around the banks, also called Mar de palha - sea of straw, because of its reflections "when the setting sun made this vast expanse of water sparkle yellow”, crossing the two capitals of the Iberian Peninsula. A privileged valley serving as refuge for around hundred species of birds considered to be endangered.

Fable of soil
Echoes of death waves
draw their sap from our losts
This project talks about a territory that breathes, where stone, earth, and sun are guests.
The surfaces are dusty, while the arid walls try to hold themselves together, nothing seems to grow anymore.
But dry stems remain, flowers burned by light and heat, frozen by the passing of time,
preserved by the breath of the earth.
